Academic history

Michael Hudecek , MD, completed his medical training, followed by specialist hematology and oncology training at the University of Leipzig, in Leipzig, Germany. He then completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, WA. At present, Dr Hudecek leads an independent translational research lab at the University of Würzburg in Germany.

CAR T-cell therapy

Dr Hudecek’s lab conducts translational research centered around engineering tumor specific chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cells and other novel transformative CAR technologies. In particular, he studies the use of these novel therapies to treat patients with multiple myeloma and acute myeloid leukemia. Dr Hudecek has been involved in clinical trials evaluating many CAR T-cell therapies for patients with multiple myeloma.
