Kostas Stamatopoulos

Kostas Stamatopoulos is Director at the Institute of Applied Biosciences at CERTH, the Center for Research and Technology Hellas, Thessaloniki, Greece. He also holds positions of Visiting Professor in Lymphoid Tumor Biology at Uppsala University, Uppsala Sweden; and, Research Collaborator of the Hematology Department and HCT Unit, G. at Papanicolaou Hospital, Thessaloniki, Greece. Since 1994, Dr. Stamatopoulos has been involved in the research of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) and lymphoma, and has published many journal articles on the immunobiology of lymphoid malignancies.

Dr. Stamatopoulos is Board member of the European Research Initiative on CLL (ERIC) and the Splenic Lymphoma Group; a founding member of the IMGT CLL-DB initiative and the IgCLL group, and co-author of the Roadmap for European Hematology Research of the European Hematology Association.

Dr. Stamatopoulos’s current research interests include, immunogenetics of human lymphoid malignancies; cell signaling; genetic diagnostics; precision medicine in cancer; and, patient empowerment in cancer care.
