John Mascarenhas, MD, is an Associate Professor of Medicine at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, New York City, NY. Dr Mascarenhas obtained his doctorate in medicine from the New York Medical College, New York City, NY. He then went on to complete a residency in internal medicine at Rhode Island Hospital, RI, followed by a fellowship in hematology at Mount Sinai Hospital, New York City, NY.

Speaking on myelofibrosis and polycythemia vera

Dr Mascarenhas’ research interests lie in developing therapies for myeloproliferative disorders, in particular myelofibrosis. More recently he has been involved in the JAKARTA studies, JAKARTA and JAKARTA2, which are investigating fedratinib as a therapy for patients with myelofibrosis.
