Academic History

Francesco Maura, MD, completed his medical degree followed by a Fellowship at the University of Milan, Milan, Italy, after which he completed a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Cancer, Ageing and Somatic Mutation Programme at Wellcome Sanger Institute, Hinxton, UK. Following this, Dr Maura was an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of the Myeloma Research Institute at the Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, University of Miami, Miami, FL, and the co-PI of the Myeloma Computational and Translational Laboratory. Dr Maura is now an Assistant Member at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY.

His research focuses on next-generation sequencing data analysis and genomic investigations into cancer genome evolution. His team has integrated clinical and genomic data to elucidate the pathogenesis and clonal evolution of hematological malignancies such as multiple myeloma, lymphomas, and therapy-related myeloid neoplasms.
