Academic history

Donal McLornan, MBBCh, MRCP, PhD, FRCPath, is a Consultant Hematologist at the Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust in London, UK. Dr McLornan received his medical degree with honours from Queen’s University Belfast in 1999. Following that, Dr McLornan specialized in allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplantation and received a fellowship to undertake a PhD (2006-2009) at the same university.

Dr McLornan is a Fellow of the Royal College of Pathologists, Chair of the Myeloproliferative Neoplasms (MPN) Subcommittee of the Chronic Malignancy Working Party of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT), and a participant of the National Cancer Research Institute (NCRI) MPN Working Group. He is also one of the clinical leads of the King’s College Hospital apheresis services.

Speaking on myeloproliferative neoplasms and myelofibrosis

Dr McLornan is particularly interested in myeloproliferative disorders, myelodysplasia, acute myeloid leukemia and allogenic stem cell transplantation.
