Academic history

Ben Kennedy, MB ChB, FRCP(UK), FRCPath, is a Consultant Hematologist at the University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust, Leicester, UK. Dr Kennedy also works with the European School of Hematology at international events, studying communication problems between doctors and patients.

Dr Kennedy was previously Chair of the Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Lymphoma MDT from 2005 to 2012, Head of Laboratory hematology at Leicester Royal Infirmary from 2002 to 2009 and Head of Department from 2009-2012.

Speaking on clinical trials in lymphoma and lymphoproliferative disorders

Dr Kennedy’s special clinical interests include malignant lymphoma and lymphoproliferative disorders. He has published widely and co-written the international guidelines on the use of alemtuzumab in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL).
