Alok Khorana

Academic history

Alok Khorana, MD, completed his medical degree at the Maharaja Sayajirao University Medical Baroda (Gujarat), India. He completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Buffalo in New York and his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Rochester, New York.

Dr Khorana is currently a Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine and is the also Chair of several societies including the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) and the Clinical Practice Guidelines Panel (CPGC), amongst others.

Speaking on cancer-associated thrombosis

Dr Khorana’s research focuses on novel therapeutic areas and improved outcomes in gastrointestinal cancer and cancer-associated thrombosis. He is the co-editor and co-author of books in his field and has been published in many scientific journals for his work on cancer-associated thrombosis.
