Aditi Shastri, MBBS, is an Assistant Professor of Medicine in the Department of Oncology at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY, and an attending physician at Montefiore Medical Center, Bronx, NY.
Dr Shastri received her MBBS from Lokmanya Tilak Municipal Medical College, Mumbai, India. She completed her residency in Internal Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, followed by a fellowship in Hematology/Oncology at Montefiore Medical Center & Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
In addition to her clinical and research roles, Dr Shastri is a member of the American Society of Hematology (ASH) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR). She is also involved in mentoring medical students and residents, fostering the next generation of oncologists and hematologists.
Speaking on novel approaches for the treatment of AML and MDS following HMA failure
Dr Shastri has a special interest in the development of novel treatment approaches for myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia (AML) after the failure of therapy with hypomethylating agents (HMAs), with a focus on therapeutically targeting the transcription factor STAT3 in MDS and AML.
