VJHemHeroes: EHA 2018 winners!

Thank you!

Thank you to all of our VJHemHeroes participants from EHA 2018! We enjoyed meeting the rising stars in hematology and hearing about your research. After much deliberation, we are ready to announce our VJHemHeroes of EHA 2018!

And the winners are…

Congratulations to Nikoleta Bizymi and Abdul Naser Nourallah! Watch the winning videos below…

Nikoleta Bizymi, a Masters student from the University Hospital of Crete, Heraklion, Greece, tells us about her poster from EHA 2018: ‘Low proportion of myeloid derived suppressor cell populations in the peripheral blood of patients with chronic idiopathic neutropenia’. Nikoleta shares her ambition for this research to be translated into the clinic, with biomarkers or treatments identified to benefit patients in the future.

Abdul Naser Nourallah, MD, from Almana General Hospital, Khobar, Saudi Arabia, passionately discusses what he believes to be a major advancement in the treatment of multiple myeloma (MM).  As a result of novel, successful therapies being introduced in the field of MM, he highlights how we are moving away from transplant and predicts that it may be delayed or not needed in the future.

Do you want to be the next VJHemHero?

Are you a rising star in hematology? Is your team pioneering a new research initiative? Are you an advocate for patient education? Whatever it may be, we want to hear about it!

We are calling all scientists, doctors, pharmacists, nurses, advocates and hematology champions, tell us about your work.
