IMS 2026 | MRD-guided maintenance discontinuation in myeloma: long-term results from GEM2014MAIN

David Moreno, MD, PhD, Hospital Clinic Barcelona, Barcelona, Spain, discusses long-term results from the GEM2014MAIN study (NCT02406144) evaluating measurable residual disease (MRD)-guided discontinuation of maintenance therapy in newly diagnosed multiple myeloma. He highlights the association between MRD negativity and prolonged progression-free survival, including outcomes after treatment discontinuation, and the potential for sustained MRD negativity to help identify patients who may achieve long-term disease control without ongoing maintenance. This interview took place at the 23rd International Myeloma Society (IMS) Annual Meeting in Glasgow, UK.
