Menin inhibitors to target MRD and as post-transplant maintenance in AML

Ghayas Issa, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, presents on menin inhibition to target measurable residual disease (MRD) in patients with KMT2A-rearranged or NPM1-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Dr Issa discusses the Phase I/II trial (NCT06284486) of revumenib plus venetoclax and preclinical data suggesting that menin inhibitors may also enhance the graft-versus-leukemia (GVL) effect, supporting the use of these agents as maintenance after allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT). He also discusses thrombocytopenia as an on-target effect and ongoing trials of menin inhibitors in these settings. This presentation took place at the 8th International Workshop on Acute Leukemias (iwAL) in Cambridge, MA.
