MRD as a clinical endpoint in trials for AML: updates from recent datasets

Gege Gui, PhD, Virginia Tech FBRI Cancer Center, Washington, D.C., presents data on the role of measurable residual disease (MRD) as an endpoint in clinical trials for acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Dr Gui emphasizes that while MRD can predict patient outcomes, it takes multiple trials to establish whether a treatment effect on MRD can predict a treatment effect on survival, and notes that the choice of MRD marker is crucial, with different markers performing well in different contexts. This presentation took place at the 8th International Workshop on Acute Leukemias (iwAL) in Cambridge, MA.
