Circulating tumor DNA enables sensitive and universally applicable MRD monitoring in AML

Tian Yi Zhang, MD, PhD, Stanford Cancer Institute, Stanford , CA, presents data on the use of circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) for measurable residual disease (MRD) monitoring in acute myeloid leukemia (AML), which allows for personalized and bespoke monitoring of the disease. Dr Zhang discusses this in the context of the updated European LeukemiaNet (ELN) guidelines for MRD, and highlights the potential of ctDNA-MRD to predict relapse-free survival and overall survival. This presentation took place at the 8th International Workshop on Acute Leukemias (iwAL) in Cambridge, MA.
