Simona Soverini, PhD, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, discusses the potential clinical implications of targeting aurora kinase A (AURKA) in blast-phase chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Dr Soverini emphasizes that data are currently limited to the preclinical setting but highlights AURKA inhibitors, particularly in combination with BCR::ABL1 tyrosine kinase inhibitors, as a potential strategy for patients with few remaining therapeutic options. This interview took place at the 14th Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2026) in Houston, TX.
