Simona Soverini, PhD, University of Bologna, Bologna, Italy, discusses emerging technologies for monitoring chronic myeloid leukemia (CML), including digital PCR and next-generation sequencing (NGS). She highlights the potential of digital PCR to enable quantitative monitoring of atypical BCR::ABL1 transcripts and improve mutation testing, while highly sensitive NGS approaches may provide additional insights into kinase domain mutations and prognostic markers such as ASXL1. This interview took place at the 14th Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2026) in Houston, TX.
