EHA 2026 | Guidance for community oncologists treating patients with relapsed IDH1-mutated AML

Agnieszka Wierzbowska, MD, PhD, Medical University of Lodz, Lodz, Poland, provides guidance for treating patients with IDH1-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) who have relapsed after initial therapy with IDH1 inhibitors. She notes that available data indicate these patients remain sensitive to venetoclax-based therapies and suggests using venetoclax in combination with azacitidine or with a hypomethylating agent. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Stockholm, Sweden.
