Maria Teresa Voso, MD, University Tor Vergata, Rome, Italy, shares insights into the updated measurable residual disease (MRD) recommendations published by the ELN in December 2025 for monitoring acute myeloid leukemia (AML), highlighting the inclusion of molecular markers such as FLT3-ITD. Dr Voso outlines the revised follow-up recommendations for acute promyelocytic leukemia (APL), and notes that NPM1 remains a key MRD marker, while flow cytometry is used for patients without trackable mutations. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Stockholm, Sweden.
