ASCO 2026 | Key diagnostic and therapeutic challenges in TP53-mutated MDS, AML, and MPNs

Akriti Jain, MD, Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, OH, discusses challenges associated with TP53-mutated myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN), highlighting poor prognosis and limited treatment options. Dr Jain notes that allogeneic stem cell transplant is the only potential cure, but relapse rates are high, necessitating further research into TP53 modulators and targeting agents. This interview took place during the 2026 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) Meeting in Chicago, IL.
