Shinichi Makita, MD, National Cancer Center Hospital, Tokyo, Japan, provides insight into a symposium at the 2026 EHA congress focusing on the evolving role of immunotherapy and frontline treatment strategies in diffuse large B-cell lymphoma (DLBCL). Dr Makita highlights the benefits of polatuzumab vedotin (Pola) with R-CHP, particularly in the ABC subtype, and notes that although Pola-R-CHP has shown positive results, further improvements in efficacy are still needed. This interview took place at the 31st Congress of the European Hematology Association (EHA) in Stockholm, Sweden.
