Antonio Cuneo, MD, St. Anna University Hospital, Ferrara, Italy, comments on the risk of developing severe COVID-19 infection in patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Dr Cuneo explains that COVID-19 infection can lead to pneumonia, bacterial infection, and deterioration of the clinical status in patients with CLL, and it is therefore essential for these patients to be appropriately treated as early as possible. This interview took place at the 2022 European Research Initiative on CLL (ERIC) Meeting.
