iwCLL 2021 | Genomic differences between patients with CLL in China and Europe

Shenmiao Yang, MD, Peking University Institute of Hematology, Peking University People’s Hospital, Peking, China, discusses how genetics might explain the differential age-adjusted incidences between patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) in China and East Asia, in comparison to patients in Europe and the US. Dr Yang reports the findings of recent work investigating whether single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), traditionally associated with CLL in European ethnic groups, impact the incidence of CLL in Chinese patients. This interview was conducted during the 2021 virtual international workshop on CLL (iwCLL) congress.
