EHA 2022 | Highlights from EHA: in-person discussions & exciting updates

Arnon Nagler, MD, Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Aviv, Israel, shares his excitement for the return of in-person meetings, as well as for some presentations that were given at this year’s EHA congress. This interview took place at the European Hematology Association (EHA) Congress 2022 held in Vienna, Austria.

EHA, this year, is very exciting for all of us after two or two and a half years of just virtual meetings. This is, I guess, the biggest meeting, successful meeting in-person. There were thousands of people here. All the halls were booked. So this was a cutting edge, scientific meeting, but also socially. We were very excited to see all the colleagues and go back to what we used to do for many years...

There were thousands of people here. All the halls were booked. So this was a cutting edge, scientific meeting, but also socially. We were very excited to see all the colleagues and go back to what we used to do for many years. There were only few sessions that the presenters were not attending, but we can have on both worlds because it’ll be also online for an additional few days. And we cannot attend in the same time two talks, but we can see all the talks in the virtual meeting. Besides, there was a lot of basic hematology lectures in this meeting. So the origin of hematopoiesis, the mice work on stem cells. So besides the many clinical advantages in myeloma of the BiTEs and [inaudible 00:01:15] and CAR T-cells and lymphoma and all other advantages in CLL and some phase III study successes that were just presented now in the late breaking abstract. There was a lot of good, basic hematology science in this meeting.
