Well nurses are at the forefront of the delivery of the CAR-T process. From when they first meet a patient, if it’s a specialist nurse, to diagnosis, to guiding them along the process. To your apheresis nurses for the collection of the cells, you know, a really pivotal point in the process because it’s such an important part to the patient. The nurse is there guiding them along, then through their bridging therapy and then to their admission to the direct care on the ward. Then to also the aftercare and follow-up and look at, you know, often an awful lot, and we’ve had some really good presentations yesterday, on the role of the nurse in telephone clinics and things like that particularly for patients who are further away from the hospital who aren’t living near at hand, so that you know that it’s trying to minimize the impact but get the best benefit for the patient.

But then nurses are also involved in the delivery and reporting of trials, in data collection and as the landscape expands and we’re going to have to involve other disciplines other than just hematology nurses so like rheumatology, oncology, autoimmune diseases and the nurse is the person that’s been used to delivering these therapies so there’s going to be a huge role and need for education. And that’s where my own organization HNHCP come in, because we’re doing education materials both on CAR-T, bispecifics, and all of these new therapies and diseases and how it fits into all of these diseases as we go along.
