Jorge Castillo, MD, Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, Boston, MA, discusses ongoing research into the development of skin punch biopsy as a potential future diagnostic tool for neuropathy in Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) patients. Working with various stains, immunofluorescence and electron microscopy, researchers are looking to establish an association between IgM deposition and neuropathy, and create a tool that can diagnose the commonly occurring condition. This interview took place at the 64th ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress in New Orleans, LA.
