iwCLL 2023 | The Lymphoma Coalition Global Patient survey: key gaps in health literacy

Lorna Warwick, BA, Lymphoma Coalition, Ontario, Canada, comments on the findings of the most recent Lymphoma Coalition Global Patient survey, with a focus on health literacy in patients with lymphomas and chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). Although some medical terms used by healthcare teams are widely understood by patients, other key terms are not, emphasizing the need for verification of patient understanding so that they are able to fully participate in conversations about their care. This interview was recorded at the biennial International Workshop on Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (iwCLL) 2023 meeting, held in Boston, MA.
