SOHO 2025 | CML in low- and middle-income countries: exploring the feasibility of treatment-free remissions

In this video, Pat Garcia-Gonzalez, CEO of The Max Foundation, Seattle, WA, shares insights from over two decades of work providing access to TKI therapy for patients with chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in low- and middle-income countries. Ms Garcia-Gonzalez highlights the success of their 22-year experience in providing access to TKIs to 100,000 patients. She then presents promising results from a pilot program exploring treatment-free remission (TFR), showing it to be a safe and feasible option in resource-limited settings. This interview took place at the 13th Annual Meeting of the Society of Hematologic Oncology (SOHO 2025) in Houston, TX.
