Giora Sharf, Israeli CML Patients Organization, Netanya, Israel, discusses the patient’s and patient advocate’s perspective on achieving a cure in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML). Mr Sharf argues that achieving treatment-free remission (TFR) is not sufficient and that there remain several challenges in this space. Indeed, it is necessary to improve the patient’s quality of life (QoL), improve access to therapies, and increase the number of patients who can achieve TFR. This interview took place at the 24th Annual John Goldman Conference on Chronic Myeloid Leukemia (ESH CML) held in Mandelieu-La Napoule, France.
