Massimo Degano, PhD, Fondazione Centro San Raffaele, Milan, Italy, discusses a study investigating the three-dimensional structure of B-cell receptors (BcRs) in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) cells. His research reveals a unique interaction that BcRs can have with themselves, acting as both the receptor and antigen. However, these interactions differ from patient to patient, highlighting the need for patient-specific studies to develop targeted therapies. This interview took place at the 2024 European Research Initiative on CLL (ERIC) Meeting in Barcelona, Spain.
