Abdulraheem Yacoub, MD, MBBS, The University of Kansas, Westwood, KS, discusses upcoming trials investigating the treatment of polycythemia vera, namely trials exploring pegylated interferons and hepcidin inhibitors which have reported promising preliminary clinical outcomes. In particular, Dr Yacoub comments on the potential benefits of ropeginterferon alfa-2b, which is currently approved in Europe but not in the US.
