Jad Othman, MBBS, King’s College and Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, outlines the standard treatment protocol for patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) treated within the UK National Health Service (NHS). Patients receive double induction therapy followed by two consolidation treatments, often within the framework of a UK NCRI trial.
