EBMT 2026 | One versus two inductions to attain CR1 in patients with AML undergoing alloSCT with PTCy

Arnon Nagler, MD, Chaim Sheba Medical Center, Tel-Aviv, Israel, shares the findings of a registry-based retrospective analysis that evaluated the impact of one versus two inductions to attain first complete remission (CR1) in patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) undergoing allogeneic stem cell transplantation (alloSCT) with post-transplant cyclophosphamide (PTCy). Prof. Nagler notes that while achieving remission after one induction is typically associated with better transplant outcomes, this difference is not observed in patients receiving PTCy, suggesting a new biology at play. This interview took place at the 52nd Annual Meeting of the EBMT in Madrid, Spain.
