LLM 2021 | Differentiating Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia and cold agglutinin disease

Sigbjorn Berentsen, MD, PhD, Haugesund Hospital, Haugesund, Norway, discusses the differences between Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) and cold agglutinin disease (CAD). WM and CAD have similar features and were previously thought be to linked, but recent data have indicated that they are two separate diseases. Distinguishing features include the MYD88 L265P mutation, which is more prevalent in patients with CAD. This interview took place at the Lymphoma, Leukemia & Myeloma Congress 2021.
