Shirley D’Sa, MD, FRCP, FRCPath, University College London, London, United Kingdom, discusses a study investigating the ethnic diversity in the presentation and outcome of Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia (WM) and monoclonal gammopathy of undetermined significance (MGUS) in the United Kingdom. The findings revealed diversity in the biological characteristics of patients from ethnic minorities compared to white patients, as well as differences dependent on social deprivation. This interview took place at the 12th International Workshop on Waldenström’s Macroglobulinemia (IWWM-12) in Prague, Czech Republic.
