Eva Telzerow, MSc, Ludwig-Maximilians University, Munich, Germany, shares the results of the AMLCG-survivorship study which evaluated somatic and psycho-social outcomes in long-term survivors of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). The study reported that quality of life (QoL) and health-related life satisfaction were similar to that of the general population. However, general life satisfaction of AML long-term survivors appeared to be impacted by a different set of factors. High rates of anxiety and depression were reported among a subset of patients, particularly those with lower incomes, suggesting a need for targeted interventions. This interview took place at the 18th International Symposium on Acute Leukemias (ISAL XVIII), held in Munich, Germany.
