Stefano Ricagno, PhD, University of Milan, Milan, Italy, shares his highlights from the session on basic research on light chains and cardiotoxicity that took place at this year’s ISA meeting, discussing the role of post-translational modifications (PTMs) as a risk factor for AL amyloidosis, and how it is possible to predict amyloidogenic proteins from sequence motifs. This interview took place at the 2022 International Symposium on Amyloidosis (ISA) held in Heidelberg, Germany.
