ASCAT 2023 | Non-pharmacological pain management strategies in children with SCD
In this video, Caroline Vuong, MD, PhD, Amsterdam UMC, Amsterdam, The Netherlands, briefly comments on a systematic review conducted into the efficacy of non-pharmacological pain management strategies in children with sickle cell disease (SCD). Although these strategies show promise, there is insufficient evidence to make clinical recommendations and a standardized method for studying the efficacy of these interventions must be developed. This interview was recorded at the 18th Annual Scientific Conference on Sickle Cell and Thalassemia (ASCAT) 2023.
