BSH 2022 | An overview of the pathophysiology of PNH

Shreyans Gandhi, MBBS, MD, DNB(Internal Medicine), MRCP, FRCPath, M.Phil, King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, London, UK, gives an overview of his presentation at BSH 2022, which focused on the pathophysiology of paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH). Dr Gandhi briefly explains what was covered in this presentation, including how PNH clones emerge and affect patients with aplastic anemia, and how the complement system plays an important role in the development of disease, as well as the discovery of numerous therapeutic agents. This interview took place at the 62nd Annual Scientific Meeting of the British Society for Haematology (BSH) 2022, in Manchester, UK.
