Yi Lin, MD, PhD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, provides an overview of implementing a remote patient monitoring program for managing outpatients receiving chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapy. Remote monitoring enables supervision of physiological and neurological symptoms, as well enable patients to connect with clinicians. In the case of axicabtagene ciloleucel (axi-cel), which can cause early neurological symptoms, remote monitoring can effectively identify patients who need critical care. This interview took place at the 63rd ASH Annual Meeting and Exposition congress in Atlanta, GA.
