Uday Popat, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the optimization of conditioning regimens for stem cell transplantation (SCT) in myelofibrosis (MF), mainly focusing on the adjustment of busulfan dosing and the introduction of post-transplant cyclophosphamide to counteract graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Prof. Popat details the steps taken to refine the conditioning regimen and achieve lower relapse rates, lower levels of non-relapse mortality, and higher patient survival.
