MPN Workshop of the Carolinas 2024 | Optimizing conditioning regimens for stem cell transplantation in myelofibrosis

Uday Popat, MD, The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX, discusses the optimization of conditioning regimens for stem cell transplantation (SCT) in myelofibrosis (MF), mainly focusing on the adjustment of busulfan dosing and the introduction of post-transplant cyclophosphamide to counteract graft-versus-host disease (GvHD). Prof. Popat details the steps taken to refine the conditioning regimen and achieve lower relapse rates, lower levels of non-relapse mortality, and higher patient survival. This interview took place at the 1st Annual MPN Workshop of the Carolinas in Asheville, NC.
