EBMT 2017 | What types of post-transplant complications does the biobank project aim to improve?

Regis Peffault de Latour, MD, PhD of Saint Louis Hospital, Paris, France, gives an overview of the types of post-transplant complications in which the biobank him and his team are creating will be able to assess. The aim of this biobank is to collect as many samples as possible to use for research and ultimately improve the outcomes of transplantation. In addition to graft versus host disease, the biobank aims to look at and respond to all questions associated with all types of post-transplant complications. These include polymorphisms associated with fungal infections or DNA aspects that expose patients to sinusoidal obstruction syndrome.
Dr. de Latour explains that the creation of this biobank has been possible as currently all French centers are involved. He explains that in order to participate, an academic or company proposal must be submitted to and approved by the scientific counsel that is leading the project.
Recorded at the 2017 annual meeting of the European Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation (EBMT) in Marseille, France
