ASH 2022 | Increasing access to blood transfusions during hospice care & implementing palliative care in AML

Mark Litzow, MD, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, MN, comments on the key recommendations that emerged from a session at ASH that aimed to develop guidelines for the treatment of older adults with acute myeloid leukemia (AML), including the need to improve access to blood transfusions during hospice care and to implement palliative care early on in the treatment of patients with AML and other advanced hematological malignancies.
