Peter Voorhees
Academic History
Peter Voorhees, MD, leads the multiple myeloma program and is the Director of Outreach for Hematologic Malignancies, Plasma Cells Disorder Program in the Department of Hematologic Oncology and Blood Disorders at Levine Cancer Institute, Charlotte, NC. Dr Voorhees is also a Professor of Cancer Medicine and associate director of clinical research at Wake Forest University School of Medicine, Winston-Salem, NC.
Dr Voorhees received his MD from University of Michigan, Ann Arbor, MI, following which he completed his residency in internal medicine at University of Wisconsin Hospital, Madison, WI and a fellowship in hematologic oncology at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Chapel Hill, NC. Dr Voorhees then went on to work as an assistant professor in the Department of Internal Medicine, division of Hematology-Oncology at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr Voorhees is a member of the National Cancer Institute’s Multiple Myeloma Steering Committee and Vice Chair for the Alliance Cooperative Group’s Multiple Myeloma Committee.
Speaking on CAR-T, bispecific antibodies, and novel therapies in myeloma
Dr Voorhees is a specialist in multiple myeloma, whose research primarily focuses on the clinical development of novel therapeutic strategies for newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory (R/R) multiple myeloma, including CAR T-cell therapy, bispecific and trispecific antibodies, and monoclonal antibody-based regimens.
Dr Voorhees has led numerous clinical trials evaluating innovative treatment strategies for newly diagnosed and R/R myeloma, helping to advance the standard of care for patients.
