Michael Wang

Academic history

Michael Wang, MD, MS, earnt his medical degree from Shandong Medical University in Shandong, China, and completed his residency at Norwalk Hospital in Norwalk, CT. Following this, Prof. Wang completed a fellowship in oncology and hematology at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX where he is currently a Professor in the Department of Hematology and Myeloma.

Speaking on mantle cell lymphoma

Prof. Wang’s research is predominantly focused on the pre-clinical and clinical development of treatments for patients with mantle cell lymphoma (MCL). He is the Principal Investigator for several clinical trials evaluating ibrutinib for patients with MCL. Additionally, Prof. Wang is the Principal Investigator for the B-Cell Lymphoma Moon Shot Program at MD Anderson, a program aiming to develop and improve patient-specific treatment of B-cell lymphoma through targeted therapy, cellular therapy, and immunotherapy.
