Academic History

Kelly Bolton, MD, PhD, completed her medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, Los Angeles, CA, in 2013. Alongside this, Dr Bolton also obtained an MPhil in Epidemiology and a PhD in Public Health and Primary Care from the University of Cambridge, Cambridge, UK. Following her medical degree, Dr Bolton undertook her Internship and Residency at Weil Cornell Medical College-NYP, New York, NY, and a Fellowship in Internal Medicine at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY.

At present, Dr Bolton is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Washington University Medical School, St. Louis, MO, a position she has held since 2020.

Speaking on precursor conditions and genetic susceptibility to cancer

With a background in genetic epidemiology, Dr Bolton focuses her research on genetic susceptibility to cancer and understanding how both acquired mutations and inherited genetic variation influence the development of precursor conditions and subsequent progression to hematological malignancy.
