Academic History

Jason Westin, MD, MS, FACP, is a Professor in the Department of Lymphoma/Myeloma in the Division of Cancer Medicine at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX. Dr Westin obtained his medical degree from the University of Florida, Gainesville, FL, in 2002, and in 2015, completed an MS in Clinical and Translational Sciences at the University of Texas Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Houston, TX.

Dr Westin is the Director of the Lymphoma Clinical Research Program and Section Chief of the Aggressive Lymphoma research team at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. Dr Westin is also the former Chair of the ASCO Government Relations Committee.

Speaking on novel immunotherapies in non-Hodgkin lymphoma

Dr Westin is passionate about clinical research and the designing and conducting of innovative investigator-initiated trials to explore novel therapies and methods for the treatment of patients with lymphoma. His research has been published in various prestigious journals, and has been funded by a number of awards, including a Conquer Cancer Foundation Leadership Development Program and a Career Development Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO).
