Jan Burger, MD, PhD, is a Professor at The University of Texas, MD Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, TX.
Dr Burger received his medical degree in 1994 from Albert Ludwigs University, Freiburg, Germany. He then completed an internal medicine residency at Freiburg University Hospital, Freiburg, Germany, in 1996 before becoming a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California, San Diego, CA. Afterwards, in 1999, Dr Burger returned to Freiburg University Hospital as a fellowship instructor in hematology oncology.
Speaking on CLL and microenvironmental influences
Dr Burger’s research focuses on malignant B-lymphocytes and their communication with the tissue microenvironment. He is also an active member of numerous scientific societies including EHA, The International Cancer Microenvironment Society, the Southwest Oncology Group and the American Society of Hematology.
