Academic History

Gordon Cook, MBChB, PhD, FRCP, FRCPath, is a Professor of Hematology and the Clinical Director in the Clinical Trials Research Unit at the University of Leeds, Leeds, UK.

Prof. Cook earned his Medical Degree at the University of Glasgow School of Medicine, Glasgow, UK, followed by professional training in Hematology at the University of the West of Scotland. He completed a PhD in Tumour Immunology at this institution, after which he was appointed Consultant Hematologist. He then went on to be a Director of Stem Cell Transplantation at Leeds Teaching Hospitals.

Prof. Cook leads the myeloma clinical and translational research portfolio, with a focus on tumor immunology and immunotherapy. As Clinical Director at the University of Leeds and Chair of the UK Myeloma Research Alliance, he oversees extensive national and international clinical trials. He serves as Chief Investigator for several key myeloma studies and collaborates with industry on global phase III trials.
