Binod Dhakal, MD, is an associate professor of hematology and oncology at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI.
Dr Dhakal received his MD from Manipal College of Medical Sciences, Pokhara, Nepal, in 2004 and completed his residency in internal medicine at Saint Francis Hospital, Evanston, IL. He then became an assistant professor of medicine in the Division of General Internal Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin, Milwaukee, WI, where he also undertook a fellowship in hematology and oncology.
Speaking on CAR T-cell therapy, bispecific antibodies, and novel therapies in multiple myeloma
Dr Dhakal is a specialist in multiple myeloma whose research focuses on the clinical development of innovative therapies for newly diagnosed and relapsed/refractory disease, including CAR T-cell therapy and bispecific T-cell engagers. He also has an interest in bone marrow transplantation and myeloma-associated kidney disease.
Dr Dhakal has served as principal investigator on multiple clinical trials evaluating CAR T-cell therapies, including BCMA and GPRC5D-targeted approaches. He is currently involved in key trials including the Phase I CAMMOUFLAGE trial (NCT05722418), evaluating an allogeneic anti-BCMA CAR-T therapy, and the Phase II MOMENTUM trial (NCT07284758), investigating the novel IKZF1/3 MonoDAC degrader cemsidomide.
