Academic history

Anita Hill, MBChB (Hons), MRCP, FRCPath, PhD, graduated with distinction and honors in medicine and surgery from the University of Sheffield Medical School and went on to earn her PhD in complement and nitric oxide from the University of Leeds in the UK. Dr Hill has 24 years’ experience working in rare diseases from her time as a Consultant Hematologist at the Leeds Teaching Hospital NHS Trust in the UK. She currently works as the Vice President and Senior Consultant in Hematology and Complement at Alexion Pharmaceuticals.

Speaking on paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria

Dr Hill’s interests lie predominantly in non-malignant hematological disorders such as paroxysmal nocturnal hemoglobinuria (PNH), aplastic anemia, and autoimmune hemolytic anemia (AHA). Her research works focus on developing novel therapies for patients with these diseases. Dr Hill is the Principal Investigator of various clinical trials evaluating the efficacy of novel PNH treatments and has co-authored multiple research papers in this field.
