The 17th International Myeloma Workshop (IMW) was held in Boston MA, on the 12–15 of September 2019. Experts gathered from around the world to share recent advances in the understanding and treatment of multiple myeloma (MM) and related plasma cell disorders.
A variety of research was presented, looking at prognostic screening for MM, appropriate approaches to transplants, and how best to counsel patients and their families post-diagnosis. Research also displayed advances in MM treatment strategies, a highlight being the advancement of CAR T-cell therapies.
